Our Story

A man wearing headphones working on a laptop at a wooden table with a woman sitting next to him with her hands crossed in front of her. There are two laptops, a smartphone, some wires, a plant, and a bag of snacks on the table.

After working either Hybrid or fully Remote since the Covid-19 pandemic, I experienced first hand how remote working allows more freedom and work-life balance.

However, what I was not prepared for was the social isolation, loneliness, and feelings of disconnect that would come with it.

Sometimes I would sit blankly staring at my laptop screen, feeling overwhelmed by the work I had to do, yet unable to reach out to my manager for help. I felt like I had become invisible, so to speak.

As someone naturally introverted, I have noticed that for many like myself, remote working offers an easy way to blend into the background and go unnoticed.

Unfortunately, this leads to a lot of unfulfilled potential and feelings of being “stuck”; making no progress towards higher goals and achievements.

So, in 2024, I had the idea of building Flowmote, an online platform providing help for Remote and Hybrid workers like myself, struggling with loneliness and discontentment at work.

Our team of coaches are all fully certified, with a wealth of diverse experiences and backgrounds, yet all trained to adopt a deeply empathetic, results-driven approach.

No fluff. No nonsense.

Just real human connection and support.

Remote work has transformed how we work

Remote working has transformed our workplaces. It has brought a wealth of opportunities and benefits, and most UK workplaces have now adopted a Hybrid working approach.

But there’s a growing problem.

Alongside flexibility, many workers are quietly struggling with isolation, burnout, and a lack of clear career guidance in remote environments.

We are currently living through a loneliness epidemic, and Remote working has heightened this.

  • 1 in 3 UK workers report regular feelings of isolation

  • 60% of UK remote workers report feeling less connected to colleagues at work

The hidden cost of isolation:

Remote working has made isolation and social alienation skyrocket, which gives rise to a host of further mental health issues, including:

Career Anxiety · Loneliness · Stress · Burnout

This is coaching for people who work Remote and/or Hybrid and are struggling.

It’s practical, private, and made to fit easily into your life schedule.

  • Regain control of your mental and emotional load.
Remote work doesn’t just drain attention, it quietly compounds burnout, isolation, and social anxiety. In this phase, we help you unpack the hidden pressures of remote work, regulate your nervous system, and rebuild a sense of internal safety and control so work stops feeling overwhelming.

    You’ll walk away with:

    • Clear insight into what fuels your burnout versus what restores you

    • Practical tools to reduce isolation and re-establish healthy connection

    • Strategies to manage social anxiety around meetings, messaging, and visibility

    What you’ll feel:

    • Less emotional heaviness at the start and end of the workday

    • Greater calm and confidence when communicating with others

    • A renewed sense of stability, not just productivity

This phase restores emotional structure, critical for sustainable performance, confidence, and long-term wellbeing in remote work.

  • Design a daily rhythm that works with your life, not against it.
Remote work removes natural structure. Without clear boundaries, days can become isolating, mentally draining, and emotionally heavy. This phase focuses on creating simple, sustainable rhythms that reduce burnout, ease loneliness, and support your mental health.

You’ll learn easy, evidence-based techniques to break out of cycles of isolation, low motivation, and emotional fatigue that quietly build up in remote life.

    You’ll walk away with:

    • Practical, science-backed tools to manage loneliness, isolation, and poor mental health

    • A renewed sense of structure that supports recovery after demanding or emotionally draining days

    • Clearer boundaries between work, rest, and personal time that prevent burnout from creeping in

    What you’ll feel:

    • Less reactive, overstimulated, or mentally on edge

    • More consistent emotional and physical energy across the day

    • A stronger sense of control over how your workday feels, not just what you deliver

Lifestyle alignment is emotional support. This phase isn’t about forcing motivation, it’s about shaping a remote workday that helps your nervous system keep up, so progress feels sustainable rather than exhausting.

  • Shift from survival mode to sustainable remote-work systems.
Once your day has structure, the next step is moving away from coping and toward stability. In this phase, we help you replace constant mental effort with simple behaviour systems that reduce cognitive strain, support emotional regulation, and hold up during pressure.

With the guidance of your coach, you’ll shape a realistic plan to introduce new habits and lifestyle changes at a pace that feels manageable. This plan evolves with you, based on what genuinely works in your life and what does not.

    You’ll walk away with:

    • A clear, easy-to-implement plan for change that is flexible and coach-supported

    • Practical strategies to recover from mental overload, emotional fatigue, and constant context-switching

    • Reinforcement of healthy boundaries that protect focus, wellbeing, and long-term energy

    What you’ll feel:

    • A growing sense of stability, even during demanding or high-pressure weeks

    • Small, repeatable wins that compound instead of collapsing under stress

    • Reconnection with your goals, values, and sense of purpose at work

Optimised habits become internal scaffolding. They hold you steady when everything around you feels noisy, rushed, or overwhelming; so progress feels sustainable, not fragile.

  • Real change doesn’t happen in isolation. We recalibrate together, weekly.
Remote work can quietly disconnect you from feedback, support, and perspective. In this phase, your 1:1 coaching sessions become a steady checkpoint; space to reflect, adjust, and move forward without pressure, judgement, or the feeling that you have to figure everything out alone.

Changes and new habits are introduced gradually, then reviewed in sessions. Together with your coach, you’ll look at what worked, what didn’t, and refine your plan so it continues to fit your life.

    Each week, you’ll:

    • Reflect on the past week and debrief what genuinely helped and what didn’t

    • Adjust tools, habits, and strategies based on your current workload, energy, and mental state

    • Check in with a coach who understands the realities of remote work, isolation, and anxiety

    • Be supported, heard, and held accountable in a way that feels constructive, not pressurised

    You’ll walk away with:

    • Real, observable changes being implemented in your everyday life

    • Reduced feelings of loneliness and anxiety, replaced with steadier emotional grounding

    • The benefits of remote work; flexibility, balance, autonomy; without the hidden mental cost

    What you’ll feel:

    • A clear sense that you are not doing this alone

    • More stable motivation through both productive weeks and low ones

    • Growing clarity around your goals and how to move toward them

    • Increased confidence in handling everyday challenges with less friction

This is where momentum becomes sustainable.
Not through hustle or grind, but through consistent support, self-understanding, and progress that fits who you are.
